IT worker demand grows slowly A Manpower Israel survey shows increased demand for IT executives. by Shay Niv Globes Februray 13, 2008 Demand for high-tech workers rose by just 0.3% in January 2008 compared with December 2007, according to Manpower Israel Ltd. subsidiary Manpower Information Technologies Ltd. (MIT). Despite the general stability, some clear trends are discernable. Demand for executives (above the level of project manager) rose by 15.2%, demand for hardware engineers rose by 14.2%, and demand for network managers and support staff rose by 13%. On the other hand, demand for software engineers fell by 7.4% and demand for team leaders and project managers fell by 3.4%. Demand for programmers edged down by 0.3%. MIT's job survey was published a week after JobInfo's annual summary of the high-tech labor market, which also showed no change in demand for employees, but an increase in demand for executives, especially in marketing, finance, and business development.
