Salaries in the four leading high-tech sectors rose by 1.3-6.5% in the first part of the year, while the average national salary fell by 2%. The average monthly salary in the telecommunications sector rose by 6.5%, or NIS 1,245, to NIS 20,334 in 2007, compared with NIS 19,089 in 2006. The average monthly salary in the R&D sector rose 1.3% to NIS 19,312, from NIS 19,070 in 2006. The average monthly salary in medical and scientific equipment sector increased 1.3%, to NIS 18,111, from NIS 17,884 in 2006, and the average monthly salary in the computer services sector rose 3.1%, or NIS 505, to NIS 17,015 from NIS 16,510 in 2006.
