IEC employees earned an average salary of NIS 18,599, 2.4 times the national average. Salaries at IEC and Mekorot soared 14% during this period. Employees at banks, insurance companies, and financial institutions were in second place with an average salary of NIS 16,756, 2.2 times the national average, following a sharp 11.3% increase. Public administration employees were in third place with an average salary of NIS 11,175 in the first quarter, 45% higher than the national average. Their pay rose by 2.7%. In fourth place were employees in the industrial sector, who earned an average salary of NIS 10,863, 41% more than the national average salary. Their pay rose by 1.9%. As always, the lowest average salaries belonged to employees in accommodation and catering services, who earned NIS 3,589, 55% less than the national average salary, following a 0.3% decrease in their pay.
