Average wages were up 2.7% in electronic communications equipment, 5.9% in advanced medical and scientific equipment, and 8% in R&D. The highest average monthly high-tech salary was in advanced medical and scientific equipment NIS 17,584, 2.4 times the national average monthly salary of NIS 7,326. The lowest was in computer services NIS 15,850, 2.1 times the general average. R&D employees’ salaries averaged NIS 17,206 per month, and employees in electronic communications equipment averaged NIS 16,705 a month. Monthly high-tech salaries have undergone sharp seasonal fluctuations since the beginning of 2005, from a low of NIS 15,800 to a high of NIS 21,000, depending on special bonuses occasionally paid to employees.
