Average salary fell 2.6% in August

The average gross monthly salary of Israeli workers in August 
was NIS 7,326. This was NIS 199, 2.6%, less than in July, 
the Central Bureau of Statistics reported today. At the same time, 
the seasonally adjusted average salary in August was still 
NIS 148 higher than in January, a 2% increase. Israel had 
2.46 million salaried employees in August. 

The Central Bureau of Statistics emphasized that the average 
wage of Israeli workers rose by an annualized 4.2% in July-August, 
and the number of Israeli workers increased by an annualized 
1.2% during the same period.
