High-tech salaries up 3.3% in February Average salaries in high-tech sectors were NIS 16,681-17,635. by Zeev Klein Globes May 10, 2005 Average salaries in high-tech sectors rose by 3.3-24.5% in February 2005 to NIS 16,681-17,635, the Central Bureau of Statistics reported today. The average salary in high tech is 2.5 times the average national gross salary of NIS 7,004 in February. The highest average high-tech salary in February was in the electronic communications equipment sector, at NIS 17,635, followed by the R&D and advanced medical and scientific equipment sectors (NIS 17,499), and computer services (NIS 16,681). Figures indicate that the average salary in R&D rose by 3.3%, or NIS 564, within a year. The average salary rose by 7.6%, or NIS 1,744, in computer services, and by 24.5%, or NIS 3,441, in the advanced medical and scientific equipment sector, apparently due to extraordinary one-time payments in February this year. The Central Bureau of Statistics figures also indicate that the average salary of bank employees was NIS 14,704 in February, 2.1 times the national average salary. However, the average salary of bank employees was down 5.2%, compared with February 2004 (NIS 15,504), and 8% less than the average bank salary for 2004 as a whole (NIS 15,969).
