JobInfo: 6.5% more employed in high-tech in last quarter "Jewish year 5764 marked the recovery of high-tech and the sector's emergence from recession." by Michal Raveh Globes September 23, 2004 JobInfo , a Fishman group subsidiary specializing in high-tech job placements, says Jewish year 5764 (September 2003- September 2004) marked the recovery of high-tech and the sector's emergence from recession. JobInfo says employment in high-tech rose by 6.5% in the last quarter. JobInfo CEO Daliah Diamant Krief said the recovery was still a far cry from the 2000 peak, but this was the year of emergence from the crisis. An analysis of the types of job placements handled by JobInfo, compared with the corresponding period last year, indicated a 12% increase in senior jobs, a 38% increase in jobs in communications, a 33% increase in software jobs, and a 48% increase in hardware jobs. JobInfo companies and candidates manager Ofra Afgin-Hadad said, "The number and type of jobs indicates that investors are again confident in start-ups, and that existing companies are reconsolidating, upgrading their products and developing new ones. "The number of companies seeking experienced candidates and specialists has risen sharply. Salaries of engineers and programmers has risen a modest 10%, after a long period of cuts and erosion." She said the pace of hiring and job placement was faster in the present climate, and that companies were investing more resources in keeping employees, in view of the market recovery. JobInfo's executive division, which specializes in headhunting and job placements for key personnel, said recruitment of directors, vice presidents and CEOs, especially in communications, was up. Demand for senior employees with technological backgrounds and business-marketing orientation was particularly prominent during the past year. After a long stagnation, demand for senior financial managers was also rising. Published by Globes [online] - www.globes.co.il
