Hi Everyone! It is 4:20 am Sunday night in Israel. I am watching the superbowl game on Middle-East TV. It is a close game. 4th quarter, Saints are leading the Colts 22-17. Tomorrow I plan to start preparing for the annual CJI Salary Survey. More about that after a few announcements. This Wednesday there is a job fair in Jerusalem. The fair will have about 30 companies and will include all kinds of fields - including computers. Location: Merkaz Hamagshimim Hadassah Campus # 8 Gad Street (formerly Ulpan Etzion), Jerusalem Time: 5-9 pm Entrance is free. Details including the list of 30 companies at: http://www.cji.co.il/jerusalem-job-fair.htm BTW - I will give a short lecture at the fair at 6:15pm. The topic will be: Finding a job in the computer field in Israel. ------------------------------------------------------------- This week I updated the list of Israeli computer professional support groups. The list now has over 200 Linkedin and Facebook groups ranging from web developers to project managers. Many of the groups post open positions in the fields they are covering. The address is: http://www.cji.co.il/support.htm I also created a new list on Twitter called: Jobs in Israel 47 Israeli job hunting resources on Twitter. http://twitter.com/jacobrichman/jobs-in-israel Ok....does this mean that I am stopping the CJI report ? I am not stopping the list. I will continue to publish CJI updates which will include events, news and jobs. However, you should look at all relevant online resources in your job search. Take note that the printed newspapers today barely have any computer jobs listed. Almost everything has moved online. ------------------------------------------------------------- Tonight I sent out to my other lists the following: Subject: New Israeli Educational Stamps Posted Online Hi Everyone! I scanned and posted on my website the new Israeli stamps that were issued in January 2010. I included the stamp itself, the first day cover, and an English and a Hebrew flyer about the stamp. - Past and Future in Our Hands International Holocaust Remembrance Day - Alliance Israelite Universelle 150th Anniversary - Lions Israel 50th Anniversary - Fifty Years of Settling the Arava - Birds of Israel (includes Israel's National Bird) The new stamps are located at: http://www.jr.co.il/pictures/stamps/index-2010.html Enjoy! Shavua Tov - Have a Good Week, Jacob ------------------------------------------------------------- FYI: The 14th Annual Conference of the Israel Internet Association February 22-23, 2010 Location: Avenue Convention Center, Airport City Details at: http://www.isoc.org.il/conf2010/index.php?lang=en ------------------------------------------------------------- This Tuesday, I plan to launch the Annual CJI Salary Survey. Like last year, I will be collecting data via an online form but to avoid duplicates and insure validity, you will need to email the answer string to me. Please read the instructions carefully when I send them out. The survey will last 10 days. Anyone working (now) in the computer field or electronics field in Israel may fill in the form and take part in the survey. The online form creates a 52 character string which needs to be copied to the subject of a blank email message and sent to me at: jrichman@jr.co.il (Thanks YS for the form programming) Please do not send to the CJI addresses. It gives me more work. Only emails with a valid string in the subject will be processed. If you have questions or comments, please send them in a separate email with the subject: questions /coments about the survey The string you will be sending (via the email subject) is 52 characters. (including the leading "CJISS:") A sample string (fake answers, do not email it!! ): CJISS:TAM1984RU18-29Y04NNY24YYY6-9NN045Y15200S100N45 In the past several people emailed this fake string. PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL THE STRING ABOVE. The survey form web address (to create your string) will be emailed to you Tuesday. Please do not change the string that is created by the online program. Last year a few people sent in an edited version of the string with missing answers. Please do not edit the string. The bad string is rejected and I need to email you for clarifications. Thanks! All information sent to me is confidential. No personal information is given to anyone. People have asked me for raw data in the past but the answer is always no. The original name and address is deleted after the data is extracted. I require the email to avoid duplicate entries and non-Israel entries and to contact you if there are data problems. If you joined the CJI mailing list this year, ask your friends that took the survey last year - all information sent to me is confidential. Please answer all questions honestly so everyone can benefit. Garbage in = Garbage out. Results of the CJI survey will be posted on the CJI site. If all goes well (and B"H) the results should be ready before February 26 (12 of Adar - my father's Yahrzeit) When the results are posted I will email the announcement to the list. Watch your email inbox. The salary survey message should be in your email box by Tuesday evening. Please take the survey and email the results as soon as possible. Thanks!!! ------------------------------------------------------------- Now that was a long introduction. Time for the jobs..... Shavua Tov, Jacob ------------------------------------------------------------- The CJI report has been published on-line since June 1993. Archives of the CJI reports can be found at: http://www.cji.co.il Please do not send resumes to CJI or Jacob. Send resumes directly to the companies listed.
