Hi Everyone! This past Tuesday at 10:00am all the Israeli air raid sirens sounded for 2 minutes in memory of the 6 million Jews murdered in the Holocaust. Everyone in the country was reminded about what happened to our people and that now we have a country of our own that will not let it happen again. Back in September 2003, there was a special Holocaust remembrance ceremony in Auschwitz. Toward the end ofthe ceremony three Israeli Air Force F-15 fighter jets flew over the Auschwitz death camp. From an artilce about the event: As the jets zoomed by at 300 knots an hour, formation leader Brig.-Gen. Amir Eshel read out the following statement, which was broadcast on the ground: "We pilots of the Air Force, flying in the skies above the camp of horrors, arose from the ashes of the millions of victims and shoulder their silent cries, salute their courage and promise to be the shield of the Jewish people and its nation Israel."
