Sales of Chanukah candles are up this year. There are several Chanukah parties in the Jerusalem area and I hope to get to some over the next week. Jewish Holidays are really special in Israel. The Israeli Facebook network has gone from 27,420 members in August 2007 to 244,009 yesterday. I have been reading various articles on why certain countries have such high penetration of Facebook users. Based on the articles I read, Israel is number two and Turkey is number one. One article about Israel, by Maya Norton, suggested that: - Although Facebook is Hebrew and Arabic enabled, most of the features require some degree of English literacy. Israelis know and use English. - Israel is known worldwide for its technology expertise.
