Hi Everyone! This week is my birthday (both English and Hebrew dates) and this week I celebrate 23 years living in Israel. I made aliyah when I was 26 in 1984 (I will save you the math - I am now 49). It has been great living in our Jewish homeland since 1984 and I can not think of any place else I would rather be. In fact, I have not traveled outside of the country for the past 17 years. The only regret that I have is that I am still single and I have not yet found my B'shert. I decided this week that I will make a bigger effort to look for her outside of my immediate circle of friends. In fact, there are over 11,000 CJI subscribers who may be able to help me. The basics: I prefer an Anglo-Saxon English speaker, (I normally would say just North American but I am expanding my search), dati-leumi, living (or planning to live) in the Jerusalem area. Registration is free and you can setup your profile and information at various levels of privacy. One of the nice things about Facebook is that there are thousands of groups that you can join and participate in. There are also hundreds of Jewish and Israeli groups to review and join. The problem is, that you can search on "Jewish" or "Israel" using the search box but the results will include very small groups (1-10 people) and many groups that may not be useful. I decided to create my own list of Jewish and Israeli Facebook groups. As of tonight, this list already has over 250 groups sorted by category. I welcome suggestions of other groups to add.
