The following appeal is not political: Over the past several weeks the residents of Gush Katif and parts of Shomron had to leave their homes and live in temporary quarters ranging from hotel hopping to student dorms to tents. They are having many problems which are not being solved by the government. Please do not assume that all the hotels are "comfortable". Several families had to move out from "hotels" that had rats running around. Also, food is not part of the temporary setup that the government organized. Many individuals and groups from all sides (religous, secular, left and right) have joined hands in trying to help their fellow Israelis during their time of need. Help ranges from volunteering to babysit, bringing food supplies, other supplies, donating money, or just showing up to any of the temporary areas that they are currently at and seeing what you can do. Please check ahead of time because there are many cases that families had to move more then once in one day. A Yahho group / mailing list has been setup to funnel many of the requests / needs.
